Day 89: Night Fright

I am really struggling with the low levels of natural light in the evenings. It is just so frustrating to have to limit myself to an aperture of f/1.8 and an ISO of 3200. The worst thing is when I just cannot have the shutter speed that I need.

Excitement about Halloween and Christmas is starting to build in the house. Rexy has found his fangs and was keen to have some scary pictures taken. He couldn't believe his luck when I said that he could jump on my bed.

I like jumping on the bed shots. Here are some from Jan 2012. It is so interesting to look back on these photos now. Firstly they are no where near as in focus as I thought that they were. Secondly, I would use different settings now. These were shot with my kit lens at 18mm. That is a pretty wide angle for a portrait but I like some of the compositions, and even the distortions, that you get with it. I was craving the 35mm again tonight as the 50mm was too close up. Now I am thinking that after my 35mm and 85mm a 24mm might be nice....

Our bedroom is so due a makeover!
