Although I certainly thought a lot about photography and spent ages researching potential new lenses today, my camera didn't actually get picked up until bedtime. I really wasn't up for messing about with white balance and went straight to black and white in camera. I am sticking with the centre focus point and a slightly closed down aperture for now. I have had the camera on spot metering for a while now, and I am loving it. I try to meter off skin most of the time. I am also working harder to achieve focus.
It is very hard to maintain focus when the kids are twirling around in circles for much of the day!

The only time they sit still is when I put them in front of some sort of screen.

But then of course they are distracted and look pretty zoned out.

Focus, focus, focus. Roo's eyes look pretty sharp in a 1:1 crop. I have been zooming in on eyes a lot more lately.

And then I just took pot luck at bath time, with some nice results. I love what slower shutter speeds does to water.
