Day 72: Embracing Black and White Photography

I was aiming for a slow day today because I needed to recharge after our busy weekend. Bear had other plans. She has refused her nap three days in a row now. I am really hoping that it is just a phase and not the end of day time naps. I am not ready for that.

With the slow day in mind, I was just going to take a couple of pictures of Bear playing with play dough and be done with it.

But then bedtime rolled around and I was enjoying the light coming in through my bedroom window. The days are getting shorter now and I guess that it won't be there for much longer. My shutter button finger started to get twitchy, as it does, so I grabbed my camera to take a couple of shots of Roo. I am exhausted by thinking about white balance, so I just went with black and white. It is bliss to not have to think too much about colours.

Rexy joined the scene. He loves having his picture taken and gets upset if he thinks that he is being left out of a photo shoot. This was a special agent - 007 sort of pose. He favours those.

Bear arrived next.

And that made all three.

I love some of these shots. I don't know what makes a "good" black and white photo, but I am keen tofind out.
